The province has added a final Reading Scope and Sequence for Kindergarten to Grade 3, with draft Oral Language and Writing scopes and sequences (2026) open for feedback.
Below is how the official curriculum organizes it. Each strand will get full lessons like the ones in Grade 1 Mathematics.
Respond to texts on identity, community and responsibility; humour, emotion and mood in visual media; main ideas when listening; read fluently across genres
Speak in informal and formal situations; write texts with clear purpose, paragraphs and interesting detail
