Alberta's curriculum (programs of study) is set by Alberta Education and Childcare, which is replacing it subject by subject: Kindergarten to Grade 6 now follows new curricula in English language arts and literature, mathematics, science, physical education and wellness, and social studies, while Grades 7 to 12 still use earlier programs of study as new drafts are piloted. Senior high is organized into 10-, 20- and 30-level credit courses in -1/-2 streams, and the Alberta High School Diploma requires at least 100 credits, including English and social studies at the 30 level and diploma exams in core 30-level courses.
